BASIC INFORMATION
The Karolinum internet bookstore offers all of the available titles produced by the Karolinum Press, Charles University in Prague, and by more than .... publishers. The titles are organized by subjects, and are searchable by name, author, ISBN. Textbooks are sorted by the faculty for which the book is intended. Postage costs will be displayed after finalizing the order in the shopping cart. We do not charge for packaging, the shipping fee is based on the selected delivery method and the current prices charged by the Czech Post, Inc. Registered users may receive current information on the status of their orders. We will be happy to answer any questions, comments, and suggestions for the e-shop by email knihkupectvi@ruk.cuni.cz.
HOW TO ORDER
Place titles into the shopping cart by clicking on the icon. Once you have added titles to your shopping cart and wish to place a binding order, click on the Shopping Cart in the upper right corner. The shopping cart follows an order process guide, which will inform you about the individual steps in placing an order. In the first step, you select the quantity of the ordered titles, the delivery method and payment method. After clicking on the Recalculate button the total price is displayed. New customers may either place an express order without registration or an order after registering as a user. The order summary will display a complete summary of your order, and by clicking on the “submit order” button, the binding order is completed and the final confirmation dialog will pop up. Very shortly thereafter we will send you an email confirming the acceptance of your order. We will send a second email upon dispatch of your order. We cannot 100% guarantee the availability of titles with low inventory. You may cancel a binding order within three hours by sending an email request to knihkupectvi@ruk.cuni.cz.

Important: the dispatch period starts on the day the payment is credited to our account

-credit card – we accept Visa, Visa Electron, Eurocard/Mastercard, and Maestro. The payment is processed by redirecting to the PayMuzo secure system, which uses 3D-Secure technology with certificates Verified by Visa and MasterCard SecureCode. Details on payment by card here. The order total amount including postage is blocked on your card by the PayMuzo system and will not be charged until dispatch of the goods from our warehouse
-cash – only available for pick-up in person in the Karolinum Bookstore (where it is also possible to pay by card)

DISPATCH
Our dispatch period is one working day starting on the day following the order (with the exception of payments by bank transfer, see above). The expected delivery period for the package is governed by the Czech Post conditions (for standard packages it is generally two days, naturally not guaranteed). If the package has not been delivered after five working days after our email notice of dispatch, please inform us at knihkupectvi@ruk.cuni.cz.
Publications for pick-up in person will be prepared at the Karolinum Bookstore (Celetná 18, Prague 1) and you will be notified when they are ready for pick-up. When picking up books in person, please have the order number prepared.
Orders that have not been picked up within two weeks will automatically be cancelled. During pick-up it is not possible to make changes in the order.
International order shipped by Czech Post usually take 1-2 weeks within the EU, and 2-3 weeks outside of the EU.
RIGHTS AND DUTIES OF PROPRIETOR AND CUSTOMER
are governed by law no. 40/1964 Sb. of the version in force – Civil Code
RETURNS AND WARRANTY CLAIMS
Undamaged goods purchased in our internet bookstore may be returned within 14 days of delivery without stating the reason and without penalty to Karolinum Bookstore, Celetná 18, 116 36 Prague 1, the postage paid by the customer or delivered in person. Do not send goods COD. The returned goods must not be damaged, or otherwise depreciated, in the case of CD, DVD, CD-ROM the packaging must be unopened. We will refund the paid amount within 30 days of receiving the publication.
The warranty claims process is governed by the Civil Code laws in force.
PRIVACY POLICY
All personal or company information provided by customers to the internet bookstore run by Charles University in Prague, Karolinum Press are considered to be confidential and are protected by relevant regulations. The proprietor undertakes to not provide the information to third parties. The customer has the right to request the deletion of his personal information from the customer database in writing to the proprietor’s address, but only in the case that he has not made any orders. The customer’s login and password must be contained in this request.
