The study of topographic anatomy finds its meaning in the possibility of performing a synthesis of the knowledge gained during the study of systemic anatomy. Therefore a mastery of systemic anatomy is a prerequisite for the study of topographic anatomy. Topographic anatomy is also suited for reviewing during preparations for tests.
Original schemas and cross sections developed and drawn by the authors during lectures on the blackboard are used in creating the documentation of this book. V. Kacerovský and R. Smetanová, illustrators from the Medical Faculty in Plzeň, reworked the illustrations as pen-ink drawings.
